Shaun Mckean

Shaun McKean has been acting for well over twenty years. Originally from New Zealand, Shaun now lives in Sydney. In New Zealand, Shaun was heavily involved in the theatre scene in Auckland and Wellington, performing in a range of professional and fringe theatre companies. Shaun was one of the founding members of the ‘Attic’ Theatre Company’ in Wellington. A group set up to take advantage of Wellington’s vibrant arts scene producing the Harold Pinter classic ‘The Caretaker’ for the Wellington Fringe Festival 1996.

Shaun travelled to Sydney over 10 years ago, principally to check out the acting scene ‘across the ditch’.

Since then, Shaun has also appeared in TV commercials, short films, feature films, television and theatre – for example,  Hair of the Dog’s production at Downstairs Belvoir’ of the highly acclaimed ‘Misanthrope’ directed by well know Australian actor David Field.

Shaun’s philosophy to acting is straight forward and down to earth. He’s is always seeking opportunities to extend and improve his craft. He is aware ‘perseverance and commitment’ are the hallmarks of this industry (and a good sense of humour doesn’t go astray either!)
